Wine and gastronomy


 

Saffron

Surprising though it may seem, saffron was once grown and exported from here; and in the last ten years or so, some farmers in the Lot and Célé valleys have diversified back into this traditional crop.

In summer, on our may colourful local markets you will see "Melons du Quercy". These are grown in the Quercy Blanc area, benefiting from the well-exposed, sunny chalk hillsides.
