Nearly 700 km of GR are maintained and marked on the Lot. Several major routes including the famous route of St. Jacques de Compostela, the historic road connecting Puy en Velay to Saint Jacques de Compostela form a mesh with multiple solutions hikes in loops or homelessness.

Jacques de Compostela
A local heritage has become worldwide. Entirely crossed by the legendary path of Puy, Lot this account as many monuments, sites and route sections classified as World Heritage by Unesco. On one axis from east to south-west, Lot is engraved on his skin the main route Pilgrim: The Road from Le Puy, or GR65. From Conques, it enters the department by the Lot valley, stops at Figeac and Gréalou (near Cajarc), then leaves to Cahors and trace its path to Montcuq before pushing the door of the Tarn - et-Garonne. 2 variants can explore the valley by Cele GR651 or by GR6 Rocamadour, a place of pilgrimage known.
Rando-Etapes
In the Lot, where the tradition of welcoming Santiago pilgrims is still alive, many places offering accommodation are in the category "Rando-Etape". This is attributed to stopover gîtes, B &B places, hotels or any other accommodation that undertakes to abide by a charter guaranteeing the quality of their welcome and their suitability for clients not using motorised transport.
