  • When we took over the Clos d’un Jour in Duravel in 2000, we immediately realised that what we wanted to do was to give expression to the land, the soil itself. We wanted to make wines that were truly themselves, not dominated by the flavour of wood from barrels. Then we had the idea of ageing some of the wine in earthenware jars. We went to see a potter in Castelnaudary who made us "jars" with a capacity of 130 to140 litres. Thus our first wine "Un jour sur terre" (One day on earth) was...

We wanted to make wines that were truly themselves, not dominated by the flavour of wood from barrels. Then we had the idea of ageing some of the wine in earthenware jars. We went to see a potter in Castelnaudary who made us "jars" with a capacity of 130 to140 litres. Thus our first wine "Un jour sur terre" (One day on earth) was born. That was in 2005. Since then, we have been continuing along that road, and we now mature a third of our Malbec wines in this way.
