Transformed by Man over a century of industrial activity, this stretch of clay, covering about thirty hectares, was originally constituted of a wooded area, cultivated fields and pastures. The closure of the Puy-Blanc tile yard and the end of the quarry workings gave way to the development of an exceptional landscape, composed of a humid zone, a wood and two ponds edged with reed beds. Thus this site has turned into an area with a great diversity of natural habitats and species.
