This statue in its effigy has been amputated by a number of characters who surrounded the politician. Gambetta was originally leaning on a cannon, urging the French to fight, with his right hand holds a map and designates the border of the left. A large flag and a shield marked RF (République Française) are thrown to the front. A marine shot is on the look left, a wounded soldier falls to the right. Falguières Alexandre (sculptor); Pujol Paul (architect).
