- From meadows, to hamlets and oak woods, the etymology of the word "Pech" - which refers to hills in Occitan - takes on its full meaning here, on this walk which overlooks the surrounding Causses. has strongly influenced constructions on the Quercy Causses. The dry stone walls, cazelles and gariottes (huts) which structure the landscape bear witness to this pastoral tradition. Sheep-rearing is the main contributor to the maintenance of dry pastures and woodland pastures, and is still the predominant agricultural activity here. The flocks are kept to produce lamb for consumption, and many farmers are committed to its production under the Label Rouge quality charter "Agneau fermier du Quercy”.
