The 16 hectares of vineyards of Château Lamagdelaine (the ancestor of Malbec) are located on either side of the Gallo-Roman aqueduct, on the right bank of the Lot, near Laroque des Arcs. Vines have flourished here for nearly 2000 years and have made the fortune of many brokers in the area.
There are 3 types of terroir: a cone of chalky scree, gravel (3rd terraces) and siderolithic clay, all of which have a south-south-east exposure and give the wine a lot of freshness.

The estate produces very deep, dark, intense, very aromatic wines, with fresh plums when young, which evolve into old plums.
