The Tower Jean XXII is the only vestige of the palace inhabited by Pierre Duèze, the brother of Pope John XXII, native of Cahors. Jacques Duèze, born in 1244 in Cahors, came from a family of the well-to-do bourgeoisie of Cahors. He was elected pope in 1316, under the name of John XXII. High of 34m, the tower is pierced with 5 floors of twin windows.
