Cheese at Rocamadour

  • The Lacoste farm has been going for thirty years. Our 150 alpine goats graze the wild grass on the Causse, and give well-flavoured milk which is used in the traditional way to make Rocamadour AOC cheese here in the dairy on our family farm. The cheese is made straight after each milking, every day, to preserve the qualities of the raw milk : curdling, draining, salting, moulding, ripening - all these stages require care and know-how to produce a cheese of unique quality, such as that sold directly from the farm by M. Lacoste. You can enjoy the taste of this cheese in the restaurants in Rocamadour, and you can obtain it by going directly to the Lacoste farm in Les Alix, off the Padirac road.
